Bass Pro Shops, parent of Tracker Marine, plans to deploy more than 80 boats to help in rescue efforts with Hurricane Harvey in Texas. The retailer of boats and fishing equipment has three locations in Houston and seven more across Texas.
The company also said it would donate more than US$40,000 in relief supplies to the American Red Cross and Convey of Hope.
Thousands of other boaters, including the Cajun Navy, have also volunteered their time and boats to collect stranded victims of the hurricane. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) estimates more than 450,000 people will ultimately apply for federal assistance.
