Two yacht yards, one in Costa Rica and one in Alabama, USA, have formed a strategic partnership with the objective of promoting their respective services to their overlapping customer bases.
Both full service facilities, the two involved in this strategic partnership are Saunders Yachtworks with facilities at Gulf Shores and Orance Beach in Alabama and Maria Pez Vela located at Quepos in Costa Rica. For Saunders this deal sees it expanding geographical spread into Central America and for Marina Pez Vela there are educational and training benefits.
In a statement John Fitzgerald, CEO of Saunders Yachtworks said: “It is important for us to acknowledge the fluidity of the sportfishing and cruising communities in the Gulf of Mexico and Central America. The amount of our customers who travel regularly to Costa Rica continues to grow, and aligning ourselves with Marina Pez Vela in Quepos will allow us to provide them with even better service support.”
For Marina Pez Vela, general manager Jeff Duchesneau, suggested that the partnership would present them with training opportunities related to projects completed by both companies. He commented: “We are thrilled to be affiliated with a yard in the States that has this level of expertise. Having the technical and managerial staff at Saunders available to provide education and training to our staff will allow us to take our service offerings to the next level.”
As part of the joint working both companies will participate in regional events like sportfishing tournaments and boat shows.
