Two catamaran builders have merged their operations and told local media they plan to double the size of the workforce. According to, Seattle-based Coastal Marine initiated the merger with Endeavour Catamaran Corporation, based in Clearwater, Florida, to increase its market share.

The new company will be called Endeavour Corporation. “We saw a potential for both brands,” Rob Harty, Endeavour’s president, told the website. “We used to have boats only up to 42ft and now we have boats up to 50ft. The brands complement each other.”

Coastal Marine was founded in Hong Kong in 2008 and moved to Seattle in 2012. Its Clearwater facility has a staff of about 20. Harty said that number could double in the next year. “We’ve made a substantial investment in our 60,000sq ft manufacturing facility in Clearwater, where we’re planning to introduce and build two new entry-level boats in the next six months,” Harty says. “American Yacht and Custom, our servicing centre, is due to open by the end of the year, thanks to a significant investment.” The company also has a marina in nearby St Petersburg.

Endeavour will be producing luxury catamarans under the Endeavour TrawlerCat brand and performance catamarans with the ArrowCat name. Its new Endeavour 340 model will be featured at the autumn boat shows.
