Winegard Company has launched a new marine division. The company has hired industry veteran David Quarders to work as its managing director.

The Iowa-based company said it wants to expand its marine industry presence with increased sales of its connectivity, entertainment and communications technology across the recreational boating and fishing markets, as well as in marinas and waterfront resorts.

Winegard manufactures advanced antennas and communications solutions. Its products include items like the American-made Winegard ConnecT Marine WI-FI/4GLTE Extender and WAVU Marine Amplified Omnidirectional HDTV Antenna. The product lines are designed for both recreational boaters and professional mariners. Winegard’s marine product line also includes a range of satellite TV antennas, receivers and accessories designed for fixed position use aboard a variety of vessels.

Quarders said in a statement that the company has “pioneered” mobile communications technology for 60 years. “We are an established leader and innovator in the RV and commercial trucking industries, and are known for keeping people connected with their lives and the outside world in challenging environments,” Quarders said. “We are focusing on the marine market as a natural application for Winegard technology and an excellent growth opportunity for our company.”

Quarders has an extensive background in marine electronics and has worked with Radio Holland, Intellian Technologies and Ship Equip AS. He plans to develop B2B and B2C sales for Winegard Company products across marine industry channels.
