US Department of the Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke will be the keynote speaker for the Miami International Boat Show’s annual Innovation Breakfast. The breakfast will take place on February 16 at the boat show.
“The Secretary has demonstrated his commitment to ensuring Americans have robust access to our public lands and waters and has worked to create a dialogue with the outdoor community to understand our priorities,” said Thom Dammrich, NMMA president, in a statement. “His keynote is an opportunity to hear directly from the Secretary as he shares his perspective on boating and the outdoors.”
The NMMA and Outdoor Recreation Industry Roundtable have been working closely with Zinke to expand access for boating and fishing on US national waterways. Zinke recently announced the creation of a Recreation Advisory Committee to explore how to improve outdoor recreation opportunities for Americans.
The breakfast will also include a presentation by RBFF President Frank Peterson on consumer trends that are being used to recruit new anglers and boaters. There will also be remarks by Kris Mayer, General Director, GM Wholesale, Marine and Industrial Sales on GM Marine Engine Technology in the marine industry.
This year’s Innovation Awards winners as well as five other annual awards will also be presented at the breakfast.
