A Seattle, Washington-based investment group is reviving two boating lines under the Cape Dory brand name.
Madison Bay Holdings Inc (MBH) will offer a complete new series of Cape Dory Cruiser powerboats ranging in size from 22ft-36ft to be produced in Sarasota, Florida and marketed through a network of select dealers throughout North America and internationally.
A complete line of Cape Dory Catamaran luxury yachts are also being introduced, ranging in size from 42ft-75ft. The company plans to gradually phase each model into production as manufacturing facilities and infrastructure are developed and expanded.
The trademarks and assets of Cape Dory Cruisers were acquired by MBH after principle Ricardo Ruelos, a 35-year marine industry veteran, served as a shareholder and executive vice president of C-Dory Boats. MBH has acquired marketing, distribution and in some cases manufacturing rights to several recreational vehicle and boat brands. In 2005, the company acquired the exclusive marketing and distribution rights worldwide for Warlock Power Boats, according to its website.
MBH targets market segments that are “in a less competitive space than with larger mainstream companies and is positioning itself to be a leading specialty manufacturer.”
The company claims a competitive advantage in that 35 years Madison Bay Holdings’ management has marketed a number of products and established several worldwide dealer networks.
Madison Bay Holdings also provides a variety of financial, merger & acquisition, marketing, and sales consulting services to boat manufacturers, dealers, distributors, and leisure product/water sport companies.
