The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) plans to hold a webinar on April 2nd regarding the South Korean boating market. The US trade association said that the US-Korea Free Trade Agreement, along with a growing boating sector in South Korea, will help US boat and equipment manufacturers access the market.

Boat registrations in South Korea are growing by an average of 16% annually, according to an NMMA statement. Twenty marinas are open and another 12 are under construction. The Korean International Boat Show has also become one of the leading boat shows in Asia.

“The US-Korea Free Trade Agreement provides new opportunities for US exporters to sell American manufactured goods and services as import duties on boats and related products are phased out,” said the statement. “These low barriers to market entry, coupled with ‘Made In America’ quality and prestige, make US imports highly competitive in the Korean market.”

The webinar will provide more details about the Korean market, the Free Trade Agreement and opportunities to exhibit at KIBS. It takes place from 2-3pm EDT. Interested parties can register at https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/514602280.
