Vadac BV of the Netherlands has developed a foldable aluminum trolley that takes the groaning and back pain out of moving outboard engines to and from your boat.

It is targeting the US market for its OdeSea TX-65 aluminium trolley that comes with a suggested retail price of $159,95.

Vadac introduced its first foldable trolley, the OdeSea TR-60, in 2007. The TX-65 resulted from some design rethinking, making it easier to assemble and use and weighing only 4 kilos, says Vadac sales and marketing director Bob Sonntag.

“While well-known in Europe already, we’re currently talking with some major North American distributors and retail chains about distributing this new foldable trolley,” Sonntag told IBI.

“Besides the international patent application, we’re also enrolling the trolley for a Red Dot and DAME award because of its smart and innovative design.”

The TX-65 trolley is suitable for engines of up to 15hp and weighing as much as 60 kilos (132lbs), including longtails. Its square tube design and fastening system give the trolley strength and stability.

Vadac BV has designed and manufactured technical accessories for the caravanning and marine industry since 1997.

Sonntag says the TX-65 is suitable for both motor-powered and electric engines. But since the heaviest part of an electric engine is the battery, Vadac markets a portable battery box, the PowerAce X10.

It comes in a polypropylene case with a telescopic handle, internal cabling, a battery capacity meter, an automatic fuse to multiple 12V outlets, a dual USB socket and a plug for electric outboards.
