Italian motorboat builder Sessa Marine has expanded its coverage in the US with the appointment of two new dealers.
Present for several years in Ft Lauderdale, Florida through its local dealer Fastboats, Sessa says it is now focusing on other macro-regions following strong signs that the US market is finally picking up.
In the first months of the current boating season, Sessa signed an exclusive dealership agreement with Total Marine for the northeastern US.
Based in Norwalk Connecticut, the family run business has a marina with 90 private slips, a repair and maintenance area, dry-stack hangar and 35-tonne capacity travel lift.
Total Marine also has two marinas in New Jersey — one in Tuckerton and another in Neptune — and a base in Dania Beach, Florida.
Sunsport Marine joined the Sessa network just prior to this year’s Miami boat show, representing the company in the Great Lakes region.
Based in Harrison Township, Michigan, the company specialises in sales of boats from 9.1m-16.8m (30ft-55ft). Sunsport also has a marina with 75 slips, a 30-tonne and 55-tonne travel lift, a hangar for winter boat storage and another for aftersales service with authorised Volvo Penta IPS, Yamaha and MerCruiser technicians.
Sessa will now focus on strengthening its sales network in California and the Gulf of Mexico, with Texas as the epicentre. The company says it has already identified potential partners.
Founded in 1958, Sessa Marine offers four lines of open and fly vessels from 5.5m-20.7m (18ft-68ft). The family-run business has built more than 15,000 boats and has more than 90 dealers around the world that are supported by a network of service points throughout the Mediterranean, the Middle East and North America.
