About 65 workers were laid off last week at Sea Ray’s facility in Flagler County, Florida. Brunswick Corp confirmed the layoffs to IBI.

Dan Kubera, Brunswick spokesman, told the Daytona Beach News-Journal that the layoffs were part of “the normal ebb and flow” of the boating industry, and that Brunswick is “continually adjusting production to better match demand in various industry segments.” Kubera added that the 65 layoffs were from a workforce of about 420.

The boating industry “remains stable,” said Kubera, with demand for smaller boats outpacing larger boats. Kubera said he was not aware of layoffs at any other facility in Brunswick’s boat group.
