Norway's Sleipner Motor AS in Fredrikstad, has announced the acquisition of Austrian thruster manufacturer Marinno Maritime Innovations.

The company, now renamed Sleipner-Marinno GmbH, will remain at its current premises in Rankweil, and will continue business as before with the Exturn product line and existing sales network and staff.

Ronny Skauen, director of International Operations at Sleipner, says: “While acquiring companies has not traditionally been our way, but rather to develop our own products for organic growth, when given this opportunity for creating more innovative products in the future within patents held by Marinno was irresistible (…) we just had to do it.”

Whilst there is a small area of potential product overlap, existing sales structures and dealer relationships will continue as previously. “Common ground in production, component sourcing and efficient sharing and use of technologies between the two companies and product lines will form a key part of the company going forward,” reads a company statement.
