Palma-based STP, a shipyard facility operator, has hoisted Aglaia, a 66m (217ft), 560t supersloop out of the water in Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands. The move is prior to antifouling painting, work on her superstructure, and other servicing.
Aglaia is the largest yacht to be lifted out of water in Mallorca to date, and she also has the second largest mast in the world, at 83m (272ft). M5 (ex Mirabella V) has the largest, at 89m (292ft).
The company's facilities, located within the port of Palma de Mallorca, have recently been upgraded to offer the greatest safety and the best service for the hoisting of large yachts. The 55,000m2 yard now has five travel lifts with a capacity of over 750t each, and can handle vessels up to 90m (295ft).
STP is part of WPI Group, a holding in the maritime sector in Mallorca, Ibiza and Valencia. The firm specialises in the management of marinas and docks including the Marina Port of Mallorca and the Valencia Varadero marina.
