Founder of Sunseeker International, Robert Braithwaite, has laid the first gelcoat on the mould of the new Sunseeker 155 superyacht, which is due for completion in December 2013.
The new flagship yacht will have a 4,500nm range, weight in at 500grt, and will accommodate 12 guests and 10 crew. It will incorporate inset ship’s balconies, transverse garaging of tenders and toys, including a private superyacht beach club with lower deck dayroom, folding platform and tender docking.
“Today is the beginning of the manufacturing process that will make my dream a reality,” says Braithwaite. “She will not be owned by many but those that do will be buying a craft of exceptional style, quality and innovation.”
The Sunseeker 155 is the largest build to-date undertaken by the Poole Shipyard, which can now lay claim to being the only production boatbuilder to manufacture a range of composite boats from 12m-47m (40ft-155ft).
