Anchoring solution specialist Maxwell has signed two orders from Dutch yacht maker Vitters Shipyards. The firm will provide a complete windlass system for two sloops currently under construction.

Vitters is currently preparing the build of Inoui, a 33m (108ft) performance sloop. Maxwell will provide a customized submarine type windlass system. The order includes a VWC4500 windlass with remotely operated band brake, roller/chainstopper and chain.

Designed by Philippe Briand, the vessel is Vitters’ fourth carbon superyacht.

The second order is for a twin VWC6000 installation on Dubois, a 46m (150ft) aluminium performance sloop also in build. For this project, Maxwell will provide chainstoppers, remotely operated band brakes and stainless steel base plates for the entire windlass arrangements. The hull is now at the Dutch yard where she will be finished. Her launch is due in 2013.

Part of the Vetus group since 2008, Maxwell supplies windlasses, capstans and accessories for boats, superyachts and commercial vessels.
