Italian superyacht-builder Tankoa Yachts has revealed that it has been working on its first 80m concept. The S801 is a design based on an 80m-long platform, extendable to 88m. She will have a beam of 13.5m, with a 2,500 gross tonnage in her 80m version.
Tankoa’s S801 will feature four decks plus a sun deck. An enormous main deck lounge will welcome guests aboard, while the five VIP cabins with en-suite baths will be located in the fore part of the main deck to maximise silence and comfort (in line with the 70m design philosophy).
Code-named ‘Golden Wings’, the S801 is Francesco Paszkowski’s vision of Italy’s famous ship, the Amerigo Vespucci. Her superstructure seems to be literally suspended in mid-air, an interpretation of how the sailing ship would appear if the rig was shifted aft.
At present the yard is working on the S693, which will be delivered to her owner in July 2015. Also underway are the S701 and the S501 projects.
